Toxoplasma gondii tachyzoites in the cerebrospinal fluid of a patient with cerebral toxoplasmosis. The patient presented with altered mental status.

The tachyzoites are 4-9 micrometers long by 2-3 micrometers wide. They have a tapered anterior end, a blunt posterior end and a large nucleus.
