p16 : Cervical Carcinoma

Comments:
Immunostaining for p16 has become a useful surrogate marker for HPV-induced lesions. It is reliable when performed on intraepithelial neoplasia or early invasive cancers. Expression of p16 may be lost in advanced cases. This image shows moderate to strong positivity in a case of invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix.
