Comments:
Mantle cell lymphoma causes expansion of the white pulp of the spleen. The involvement of red pulp is variable. Enlarged white pulp areas create a micronodular appearance (as shown in the previous image). The darker foci in this image are residual germinal centers which can be seen in about 50% of cases. They are surrounded by broad zones containing tumor cells.
