Chondroid Lipoma : Prognosis

Comments:
Prognosis: Chondroid lipoma is a benign neoplasm with no malignant potential. It does not recur or metastasize. Simple resection is curative.

This image of chondroid lipoma shows mostly small round cells with eosinophilic cytoplasm in a myxoid matrix. The cells have uniform hyperchromatic nuclei. A few uni- and multivacuolated lipoblasts are also present. There is close resemblance to extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma.
