Comments:
The fusion of C11orf95 and MKL2 genes appears to be specific for chondroid lipoma. MKL2 on 16p13.12 is a member of myocardin/megakaryoblastic leukemia gene family and encodes a myocardin-like protein that is involved in chromatin remodeling and also acts as a transcription factor. C11orf95 (chromosome 11 open reading frame 95) on 11q13.1 encodes a zinc-finger protein of unknown function that is widely expressed.
