Comments:
Osteosarcomas may be subdivided into osteoblastic, chondroblastic, and fibroblastic subtypes based on the dominant type of extracellular matrix. This subdivision has no prognostic significance. Approximately 20% of osteosarcomas show cartilaginous matrix production and can be classified as chondroblastic osteosarcomas. In this image, the lighter pink cartilaginous areas and the darker pink areas of osteoid matrix are present in between preexisting bony trabeculae.
