AdCC of salivary glands, breast and other locations carry a specific chromosomal translocation t(6;9)(q22-23;p23-24) resulting in MYB-NFIB gene fusion which can be detected by FISH as well as RT-PCR.

MYB (6q23.3) Rearrangement by FISH: Translocations between MYB (6q23.3) and NFIB (9p24) can be confirmed by FISH with MYB break-apart probes. The result is interpreted as positive for MYB gene rearrangement when the red and green probes are separated (arrows).
