Image Description

Intense staining with AMACR along the apical portion of the cells supports the diagnosis of prostatic adenocarcinoma. Alpha Methylacyl-CoA-Racemase (AMACR, P504s) has become established as a useful adjunct to high molecular weight cytokeratin and p63 in the evaluation of small suspicious foci in prostate needle biopsies. With AMACR, the vast majority of prostate cancers show granular staining along the apical portion of the cells as seen here.
