Aspirates of Chronic (Hashimoto) lymphocytic thyroiditis are usually cellular with numerous lymphoid cells in the background with clusters of hurthle cells, follicular cells and dendritic lymphocytic aggregates. This image shows a cluster of Hurthle cells (large, polygonal cells with abundant cytoplasm) in a background of mixed (small and large) lymphoid cells. Romanowsky stain.
