Cancer stage at diagnosis has a strong influence on the length of survival as shown in this graph. When ovarian cancer is found at an early stage, about 93% of patients survive longer than 5 years after diagnosis. Localized = tumor confined to the primary site; Regional = Tumor has spread to regional lymph nodes; Distant = Tumor has metastasized; Unknown = unstaged cancer.
