Leiomyosarcoma of Stomach

Mesenchymal tumors of the stomach are somewhat uncommon, and gastric leiomyosarcoma is extremely rare. This gross photograph demonstrates a large, fleshy, homogenenous mass with areas suspicious for hemorrhage. Tumor size greater than 5 cm appears to impart a worse prognosis.
