Comments:
This image demonstrates the spectrum of poorly-formed tubules without lumina, appearing as cords of cells, to well-formed tubular structures. The lining cells of apocrine adenoma are often cuboidal or columnar, with abundant pink cytoplasm and round bland nuclei. The dilated tubule in the center of the field contains eosinophilic secretion with the epithelial cells focally showing decapitation secretion. Mitoses are scanty and pleomorphism is absent.
