Comments:
Approximately 50% of osteosarcomas show osteoid production as the dominant matrix and can be classified as osteoblastic osteosarcomas. Osteoid is deposited as anastomosing network of delicate trabeculae (light pink) some of which are mineralized (dark pink). The space between the trabeculae is filled up with tumor cells with irregular hyperchromatic nuclei and increased mitotic activity.
