Comments:
It is a variant of epithelial hyperplasia that is usually seen in transurethral resection specimens but can also be found in needle biopsies. Not all cases show clearing of the cytoplasm. The glands are arranged in lobules and have sieve-like cribriform architecture. It lacks nuclear atypia or prominent nucleoli which help distinguish it from high-grade PIN and prostatic adenocarcinoma. Basal cell layer is usually quite prominent in clear cell cribriform hyperplasia.
