Comments:
Some carcinoid tumors display predominantly glandular architecture and have been referred to as adenocarcinoids. They should not be mistaken for adenocarcinoma. The lack of cytologic atypia and mitotic activity, the uniform arrangement of glands, and their presence beneath an otherwise normal appendiceal mucosa are helpful diagnostic features.
