Mucinous cells with bluish cytoplasm and flattened nuclei are admixed with squamous cells containing dense eosinophilic cytoplasm and rounded nuclei. Nearly 10% of all lung cancers have combined histology, including 2 or more subtypes, with prognosis driven by the most aggressive subtype.
