Pleomorphic adenomas in minor salivary glands are usually not encapsulated but are well demarcated. This image shows a minor salivary gland (mucous glands in right upper half of the slide) and a well-defined pleomorphic adenoma without encapsulation (left lower half of the slide). Foci of squamous metaplasia are seen.
