This graph shows ovarian cancer stage at the time of diagnosis. Localized = tumor confined to the primary site; Regional = Tumor has spread to regional lymph nodes; Distant = Tumor has metastasized; Unknown = unstaged cancer.

Only about 15% of ovarian cancers are found at an early stage (localized). The majority of cases (60%) are diagnosed when the tumor has already metastasized.
