Comments:
Chronic renal disease due to amyloid deposits in patients with multiple myeloma is sometimes referred to as myeloma kidney. The correct designation is amyloid light chain (AL) amyloidosis. The myeloma kidney appears pale and scarred due to a combination of deposition of amyloid light-chains (AL) in the mesangium, capillaries and tubules, accompanied by inflammation and fibrosis.
