Comments:
The small, darkly staining lymphocytes in the cutaneous lesions of CLL/SLL may be admixed with a small number of larger cells (prolymphocytes or paraimmunoblasts) with more abundant cytoplasm, dispersed chromatin, and conspicuous nucleoli. However, proliferation centers or reactive lymphoid follicles are not seen. The prognosis of leukemia involvement in CLL is generally good, with a 5-yr survival between 60%-70%.
