Dermatomyositis: The cutaneous manifestations of dermatomyositis commonly include periorbital edema and reddish-violet discoloration around the eyes (aka heliotrope erythema or heliotrope flower).

The erythema is symmetrical, involves upper eyelids more commonly, and may spread onto the cheeks. There is involvement of neck, upper trunk, extensor surfaces of limbs, and dorsal aspects of hands and fingers.
