Histologic Classification: Intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms (IPMNs) of pancreas show cystic spaces lined by intraductal proliferation of columnar mucinous epithelium that has flat or papillary architecture. Based on the predominant epithelial type, they are classified into three types: gastric (70% of cases; shown in this image), intestinal (20% cases), or pancreatobiliary (10% cases).
