Gross specimen of meningioma showing a firm, lobulated mass with broad-based attachment to the duramater. Meningiomas usually have pushing borders that deflect the surrounding neural tissues. Depending upon the predominant histologic type, the tumor may show cystic areas, whorled cut surface, gelatinous consistency, and areas of calcification.   return to Meningeal & Related Tumors
