Mullerian Adenosarcoma

Topic: Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors

Category: Uterus

slide 9 of 24

Comments:
The stromal component resembles the endometrial stroma. The atypical stromal cells show some condensation around benign glandular lining (periglandular cuffing). About 20% of cases show heterologus elements, usually skeletal muscle. The glandular component is usually proliferative endometrioid epithelium; however, some cases have squamous, endocervical, tubal, or clear cell type epithelium.   return to Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors
