Malignant Mixed Mullerian Tumor (Carcinosarcoma)

Topic: Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors

Category: Uterus

Comments:
The sarcomatous component in this case showed heterologus elements in the form of cartilage. MMMT's should be distinguished from teratomas. Features supporting MMMT include occurrence in older age group and the absence of skin appendages, thyroid tissue, and other elements commonly seen in teratomas.   return to Mixed Epithelial-Mesenchymal Tumors
