Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma, FIGO Grade 1, in Polycystic Ovarian Disease

Topic: Endometrial Carcinoma

Category: Uterus

slide 6 of 29

Comments:
This case of endometrioid adenocarcinoma, FIGO Grade 1, arose in a patient with history of polycystic ovary disease. Excessive estrogenic stimulation of the endometrium in such patients increases their risk of developing endometrial hyperplasia and carcinoma. Most endometrial carcinomas arising in this setting are well-differentiated and less likely to invade myometrium or metastasize.   return to Endometrial Carcinoma
