Comments:
Also known as mesonephroid adenocarcinoma, clear cell adenocarcinoma usually involves anterior or lateral wall of upper vagina or cervix of young females (average age at diagnosis is 17 years). Majority of the patients have history of prenatal exposure to DES or other non-steroidal estrogens. The image shows tubules, ductules, and cystic spaces lined by plump cells with clear or eosinophilic cytoplasm.   return to Malignant Epithelial Tumors
