Comments:
Mucin extravasation in a mucinous borderline tumor (MBT) of the ovary: The neoplastic glands distented with mucin may sometimes rupture and incite a granulomatous or foreign body giant cell reaction (mucin granuloma). Neoplastic epithelium may be extruded from the ruptured gland and mimic stromal invasion. Metastases from mucin-producing adenocarcinomas of the appendix or the pancreaticobiliary tree must also be clinically excluded.
