Comments:
Gross Pathology: Cardiac myxomas are soft, polypoid, and lobulated masses with a gelatinous consistency. In many cases, a stalk can be clearly seen (bottom of the image) with which the tumor is attached to the interatrial septum near foramen ovale. About one-third of cases have an irregular surface with friable papillary or villous fronds (as seen here) that can break off and embolize.
