Comments:
Like papillary cystitis, polypoid cystitis is a reactive lesion that may be seen in response to any agent that inflames or injures urothelial mucosa. In-dwelling catheters, colovesical fistulas, and bladder stones are amongst common causes. The image shows broad-based polypoid structures containing edematous and fibrotic stroma and lined by somewhat attenuated urothelium.
