Topic: Tumoral Calcinosis

Category: Uncertain Histogenesis

slide 1 of 2

Comments:
Painless tumor-like calcium deposits in periarticular soft tissues around hips, buttocks, shoulders, and elbows. Serum calcium levels are normal but phosphate levels are elevated. Presentation is usually within first two decades of life. It is more common in blacks and many cases are familial. The image shows calcified material separated by dense bands of fibrous tissue.   return to Tumoral Calcinosis
