Comments:
In rare cases, dense glassy keloid-like collagen fibers may be seen in fibromatosis. Other histologic features include thick-walled vessels, dystrophic calcification, and metaplastic ossification. Fibromatosis is treated by wide local excision. Cases with inadequate surgery (+ve margins) may be subsequently treated with radiation. Some cases have responded to endocrine therapy (tamoxifen).   return to Fibromatoses
