Comments:
The lesional cells in fibromatoses are myofibroblasts with features intermediate between those of fibroblasts and smooth muscle cells. They are arranged in parallel fascicles and separated by variable amounts of interstitial collagen. Cytologic atypia is absent and mitotic activity is not increased.    return to Fibromatoses
