Comments:
The cyst lining may consist of columnar, cuboidal or squamous epithelium. This case showed an admixture of mesothelial-like and squamous epithelium. Splenic cysts are usually seen in children and young adults. The lining cells may be positive for CEA and CA19-9. Histogenesis in unknown. Splenectomy is the usual treatment.   return to Cysts
