Hamartoma of Breast

Topic: Hamartoma

Category: Rare Breast Tumors

slide 2 of 4

Comments:
The lobules and ducts present within the adipose tissue of hamartomas are histologically normal. The precise definition of breast hamartoma and its diagnostic criteria remain controversial. Correct diagnosis requires an evaluation of radiologic, clinical and histologic criteria. Other variants of hamartoma include chondrolipoma containing mature adipose tissue and hyaline cartilage.   return to Hamartoma
