Comments:
The diagnostic hallmark of mucinous carcinoma of the breast is clusters of invasive tumor cells in pools of abundant extracellular mucin. The relative proportion of mucin and neoplastic epithelial component varies from case to case. The mucin pools are partially separated by delicate fibrous septa. An in-situ component is rarely seen.
