Comments:
Microscopic Features: Solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT) of pancreas is quite cellular and resembles pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. It shows varied histologic patterns consisting of solid, pseudopapillary and cystic areas. Hemorrhagic-necrotic foci are commonly present.

This low magnification photomicrograph of SPT shows tumor on the left with solid and pseudocystic areas. Normal pancreas is in the middle; duodenal mucosa is on the right.
