Image Description

Gastric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma typically occurs in older adults. This example shows malignant lymphoid cells penetrating through the mucosa, creating an ulceration with an underlying reparative response. Ulceration is not uncommon in this disease. Some lesions may be exophytic. The tumor has a tendency to involve distal stomach with sparing of the pylorus. Gross and radiographic features may mimic gastric carcinoma.
