Comments:
This 65 y/o male presented with upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Endoscopy revealed a hemorrhagic tumor in the fundus. Following a biopsy, he underwent gastrectomy. The image shows choriocarcinoma in the left half and an adenocarcinoma in the right half. Choriocarcinomatous areas are composed of sheets of cytotrophoblast and intermediate trophoblast in a hemorrhagic and necrotic background. Syncytiotrophoblastic cells were scant.
