Barrett Esophagus : No Dysplasia

The image shows specialized columnar epithelium beneath the squamous mucosa of distal esophagus. Scattered goblet cells are present. The diagnosis of Barrett esophagus requires both the recognition of abnormal mucosa on endoscopy as well as histologic evidence of intestinal metaplasia.
