Comments:
The distinction of post-atrophic hyperplasia from adenocarcinoma usually does not pose a diagnostic challenge. In rare cases with somewhat overlapping features, immunostaining with basal cell-specific markers can help. The image shows strong staining with high molecular weight cytokeratin and p63 in the entire focus. Note the lobular arrangement of the glands.
