Lymphogranuloma venereum: This image shows a necrotic focus with neutrophils in the center surrounded by epithelioid histiocytes. In later stages, confluent cutaneous abscesses may drain to the outside via sinus tracts. Differential diagnosis includes Cat-scratch disease, tularemia, and atypical mycobacterial infection. Diagnosis can be confirmed by Frei test, serologic, immunofluorescent, or molecular testing.
