Comments:
The differential diagnosis of Kikuchi lymphadenitis includes Lupus lymphadenopathy, peripheral T-cell lymphoma, Herpes lymphadenopathy, and Cat-Scratch disease.

This image of proliferative phase of Kikuchi lymphadenitis shows plasmacytoid dendritic cells, macrophages, and activated T-cells resembling the appearance of a peripheral T-cell lymphoma. Cases of Kikuchi lymphadenitis misdiagnosed as malignant lymphoma have frequently been the target of malpractice lawsuits.
