Precursor T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma : Mediastinum

Lymphoblastic lymphoma of the mediastinum is usually precursor T cell type, but may show natural killer or even B-cell lineage. Its usual presentation is acute respiratory distress in an adolescent male. Low power view shows diffuse sheets of atypical lymphoid cells. This may be mistaken for lymphocyte-rich (Type B1) thymoma.
